Physical Therapists

Physical Therapist – Competition # 2016-1218

This Casual position at our Sarcee location is responsible for providing client care through focused assessment, treatment and discharge planning on our rehabilitation and recovery units, and contributing to our resident’s quality of life through assessment of appropriate interventions to maximize safe, functional independence on our continuing care units. Other duties may include providing clinical supervision to support staff and students. Responsible for other related duties as required.

Program Summary:

Rehabilitation and Community Transition Program (RCTP) is a residential Rehabilitation and Recovery service providing a short-stay program supporting medically stable adults requiring additional recuperation, assessment, and therapy before returning home or moving into another care setting. The unit is supported by a specialized interdisciplinary team of health care professionals.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from a recognized Masters or Degree program in Physical Therapy
  • Registration with the College of Physical Therapists of Alberta is required
  • AADL authorizer is an asset
  • Experience using physiotherapy in a clinicaland/or continuing care setting an asset
  • New grads and physiotherapist interns welcome

Other duties may include providing clinical supervision to support staff and students. Responsible for other related duties as required.

Therapy Aides

Therapy Aides work under close supervision, and in accordance with established policies, procedures and care plans, performs a variety of routine client care support activities to optimize the functional abilities of residents. Duties may include assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADL), and working closely with the Physical and Occupational Therapists.  Responsible for other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from Grade 12 PCA
  • Certificate in leisure activities or equivalent
  • Will consider equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Related experience in a hospital or continuing care facility is preferred
  • Geriatric experience is an asset
  • Program specific training/experience is an asset According to qualifications and experience
