National Center for Post Traumatic Stress Disorders

The National Center for Post Traumatic Stress Disorders is the centre of excellence for research and education on the prevention, understanding, and treatment of PTSD. The centre has seven divisions across the country. Although they provide no direct clinical care, their purpose is to improve the well-being and understanding of American Veterans. They conduct research and apply resultant findings to advance the science and promote understanding of traumatic stress.

Peer Support for Operational Stress Injuries

The Operational Stress Injury Social Support (OSISS) Program provides confidential peer support and social support to CF members, Veterans, and their families, affected by an operational stress injury such as anxiety, depression, or PTSD resulting from military service. OSI Clinics across Canada

Operational stress injury clinics (or OSI clinics) are outpatient clinics where individuals with operational stress injuries, and their families, can find comprehensive clinical assessment and treatment services under one roof. Funded by Veterans Affairs Canada, these clinics are staffed with fully trained teams of mental health care professionals who work closely together to provide specialized care. Ste. Anne’s Hospital National Centre for Operational Stress Injuries is responsible for the development and oversight of the nine clinics, which form a network across Canada:
